Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

The Portuguese Group for Immuno-Oncology (gpI-O) is pleased to invite you to participate in the “2nd Immuno-Oncology SPO/SPI Joint Meeting, School, and Boot Camp”, which to be held in the Conímbriga Hotel do Paço, Coimbra, on October 18–19, 2024.

In this event, we intend to deepen the knowledge of the effects of immunotherapies on cancer patients through educational sessions, and to ensure the continuity of collaborations between clinical oncologists and immunologists, which began at the first edition of this event in October 2023.

The programme will feature a full day with the “Immuno-Oncology SPO/SPI School”. The second day will bring together state-of-the-art clinical and scientific discussions on current topics with presentations from distinguished speakers.

Furthermore, there will be a Boot Camp to discuss the work being developed in the “Satellite Working Groups” (SWG) since the first edition. The SWGs are divided into several topics, including Breast, Genitourinary, Digestive, Head & Neck, Skin, Gynaecology, and Thoracic Cancers.

This event will bring together clinical experts, researchers, teachers, students, and the pharmaceutical industry for a productive and collaborative meeting between basic science and clinical practice.

We look forward to welcoming you to Conímbriga on October 18–19, 2024.

The Conímbriga Hotel do Paço is a historical place full of charm, refinement and tranquillity.
This space was formerly the Almadas Palace. The roots of this palace date back to the 14th century.
The building, considered one of the most important of Condeixa, was restructured in XIX.
In 1993, it underwent deep work and was transformed into a Hotel. In 2019, it became the Conímbriga Hotel do Paço.
Here, there were lodged individualities of the most distinguished nobility and European royalty. Some of the special guests of the former palace were King D. Manuel in1500, D. Catarina, on her return to the Kingdom after the death of her husband Charles II of England in 1704, D. Pedro II, Charles of Austria and, finally, the infant of Spain D. Carlos, brother of King Fernando VII.
This hotel is owned by the ADFP Foundation, a non-profit institution that represents an offer of tourism with a purpose. The profits generated here will be used in social projects supporting people with social needs and victims of work exclusion.
