Elegibilidade e valor do patrocínio

  1. Carta explicativa do evento (tema, local e data prevista, publico alvo e número de participantes esperado) e da sua relevância para os sócios da SPI;
  2. Programa provisório e lista de oradores convidados, se aplicável;
  3. Descrição do orçamento pedido e de outros fundos previstos;
  4. Curriculum Vitae dos organizadores (máximo 2 páginas por membro);

SPI sponsorship of scientific meetings to take place in Portugal

The Portuguese Society of Immunology (SPI) sponsors the organization of scientific events to take place in Portugal. These events must present a scientific program of high quality and be of great relevance for the immunologists working in Portugal. The sponsorship can be in the form of scientific support or also financial support.

Application Guidelines

Eligibility and Sponsorship value

Any SPI member can apply for the sponsorship of a scientific meeting. The organizers of the meeting must be members of the SPI (your membership fees must be all paid – we recommend you to contact Jorge Santos at SPI by e-mail to confirm this information – mail@spimunologia.org).

In the case of Scientific/Financial sponsorship, the SPI will announce the meeting in the official SPI webpage and by e-mail to all members. In addition, the SPI will also fund the meeting up to a maximum of 50% of the total cost (with a maximum budget to be defined by the Board of Directors of the SPI), after careful analysis of the proposed budget.

Eligible events are workshops, summer schools, symposia.

The application process

Every year, the SPI will open a call for applications to SPI members in March for the organization of Scientific Events programmed for the current or following year. In exceptional years, a second call will open in October, if no application was selected during the first period (March) of that year.

Applications must be submitted by e-mail to the SPI central office (spimunologia.workshops@gmail.com) in one single pdf document containing the following elements in the following order:

  1. Letter briefly detailing the event (topic, date and venue, target audience and expected number of participants);
  2. Tentative program and list of invited speakers, if applicable;
  3. Description of the budget and of other sources of funding;
  4. Short CV of the organizers (2 pages maximum);

Evaluation of the applications

The applications will be evaluated individually by every member of the SPI Board, for the scientific quality of the event, the organizer’s CV, the suitability and timeliness of the event and the interest of the proposed topic for the SPI members and the budget.

Communication of the results

One meeting per year will be awarded by the SPI. The results will be communicated by e-mail and announced at the Annual Meeting of the SPI. The jury can decide not to sponsor any application, if none is considered adequate.

IMPORTANT:

It is required that the SPI board is periodically informed on the progress involving the organization of the event. The organizing committee is responsible for sending to SPI (mail@spimunologia.org) the invoices and receipts of all expenses covered by the SPI sponsorship.

The financial benefits of the event will revert to SPI to the maximum of the sponsored amount.
